Celebrating 50 Years of Theta Mu

CULTURE FOR SERVICE & SERVICE FOR HUMANITY

Founded in 1914 at Howard University, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was built on the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service. For more than a century, Sigma men have worked to strengthen communities, develop leaders, and embody the Fraternity's motto: Culture For Service and Service For Humanity.

Founded in 1976 at Milwaukee School of Engineering, the Terrible/Treacherous Theta Mu (ΘΜ) chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. has spent five decades building leaders, serving the community, and fostering lifelong bonds among brothers throughout Milwaukee. As the chapter celebrates its 50th anniversary, it honors the generations of men who have carried its legacy forward.

THETA MU

Building future leaders through brotherhood, scholarship, and service across Milwaukee campuses.

One brotherhood.     Lifelong legacy.

THETA MU HISTORY

Theta Mu was founded September 17, 1976, at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). It was initiated by William (Bill) Stanley of Delta XI Sigma, of which Mack Payton was the President of the alumni chapter at the time. Brother Kevin Clark became the first President of Theta Mu. The founding charter line Quiet Storm included James Williams, Frank Davis, Meryl King, and Kevin Clark.

The chapter was conceived under the guidance of Delta XI Sigma (Milwaukee Alumni), Theta Beta (UW Whitewater Collegiate), and Iota Alpha (Chicago Collegiate) chapters. The founding line was followed by Loren Austin, Rudy Russell, and Charles Ewing (line name Harvest) in the winter/spring of 1977. Today, Theta Mu proudly represents students across three Milwaukee campuses:
